A pioneer of rheumatology in Bangladesh
From establishing the country's first rheumatology clinic in 1991 to leading APLAR across the Asia–Pacific, Prof. Haq has shaped a generation of rheumatic care.
Prof. Syed Atiqul Haq is Chief Consultant at the Green Life Centre for Rheumatic Care & Research and Immediate Past President of the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR, 2018–2020). He served as the founding Chairman of the Department of Rheumatology at BSMMU (established 2012) and was Head of the Department of Medicine at the same institution from 2009 to 2012.
He founded the COPCORD Study Group in Bangladesh in 2000 and currently serves as President of the Bangladesh Rheumatology Society and the Bangladesh Lupus Foundation.
